Chocolate Chip Cookies w Smarties or Freckles

My children once went around the school telling other kids that I was the masterchef champion. They were so proud, but the teachers were a little confused. I am not Julie Goodwin, I am Julie Carlyle.  The children had taken my Silver Medal from the Dilmah High Tea Challenge to school, and told their class that I was the second best cook in the world. WOW!

Needless to say with the school fete day coming up, there was the expectation of baked goods from me, (by the children… not the school). I was not going to get off lightly. The children would have completely disowned me as a mum if I didn’t fill all the cake boxes they kept bringing home.

I needed a quick easy recipe, that makes bulk cookies, which look and taste delicious.  So I went back to an old favourite. My amazing… can’t stop at one, or even two, choc chip cookies. Best of all it makes about 55 decent sized cookies in only a 1/2 hour, plus cooking time.

I decided to take advantage of donating these cookies to the school fete, and added a little bit of local area marketing for my website to the packaging. So if you are here because you bought a yummy packet of cookies at a school fete thank you for visiting, and I hope you like the cookies and my blog.

I will not delay any longer, here is the Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe:

Place the lollies in two bowls and call the children to come and help decorate the cookies. My little helpers was my niece, the gorgeous little Miss E.

Freckle Cookies

Press the lollies into the cookies. There will be plenty of leftover lollies so it doesn’t matter if the children “taste test”

These cookies were destined for the school fete, so I though for the sake of presentation and hygiene I would bag them up and add pretty ribbon and tags. So there we have it, my simple choc chip cookie recipe.

I was talking to Daisy from “Never too sweet” and commented that I like my choc chop cookies really crisp, sweet and chocolatey.  Daisy said that she liked her cookies to be soft, sweet and doughy. It got me to wondering, how do people like their chocolate chips cookies?? Crisp or soft?
